Here is a list of software available for download:
- without Java: download/setupfw153_noJava.bin
- with Java: download/setupfw153_withJava.bin
Note: Jarrod has kindly provided the newest version; I will host them here on Fingerfans and update the above links.
Instructions
- After downloading open a shell and, cd to the directory where you downloaded the installer.
- At the prompt type: sh ./setupfw153.bin
Note: This won't install right away. Jarrod has described how to make it work and we'll try to turn that into a ready-made solution --when time permits!-- and post it here.
Alternative: Use VirtualBox and Windows XP. I've made this exact description of How to get a fully working FingerWorks software in a virtual machine.
If you have additional files, please attach them here or send them to me! (torben@g-b.dk)

FW Setup for Linux, 1.60, without Java:

FW Setup for Linux, 1.60, with Java:

As for the Knoppix ISO referenced in the instructions linked to above, I found a link that looks promising: ftp://ftp3.tnc.edu.tw/KNOPPIX/knoppix/K ... -16-EN.iso. If you try it, check the md5sum:
$ md5sum KNOPPIX_V3.3-2004-02-16-EN.iso

Re: FingerWorks MultiTouch Utilities - Linux
Thank you for the links, Jarrod! With this info, we should be able to create a complete and ready-made FingerWorks boot ISO that we can distribute, so that every user doesn't have to build it again. Your old post mentions an ISO followed by some additional steps. Do you follow this procedure every time, or could we create a snapshot of the VM state *after* those steps? I'd like to make a stab at this (maybe using VirtualBox which I'm a little familiar with already) -- when time permits.

The rapidshare files no longer works :/
Re: FingerWorks MultiTouch Utilities - Linux
I have the files locally, and I've been meaning to upload them to this site for quite some time... I've still got it on my to-do list, so please be patient!

Re: FingerWorks MultiTouch Utilities - Linux
Here's another reminder to please post the 1.60 Linux software. I'd really like to put together a VM image for configuring Fingerworks devices that doesn't have the licensing issues that XP does.
