TS doesn't work properly anymore after editing the layout

Everytime I try to change the keyboard layout with the editor and then update the firmware, neither the mousing nor the gesturing work anymore, only the typing still works. It is only fixable by re-upgrading the firmware with the upgrade software. This error is reproducable.
Does anyone know why this happens and how I can solve the problem?

what version of the editor and firmware are you useing?

First time I tried it was the old 1.35 Firmware. As it didn't work, I upgraded to the new 1.6 firmware. Still doesn't work, though.

Tried it again: Custumized the layout and sent the new XML file to the TS - same problem, typing works, but nothing else.
