That's bloody amazing. I sincerely hope it works out but I am sceptical.

We know they aren't making them anymore. So its got to be from stash.

I looked at the listing but couldn't find any indication of how many they have and who the seller is. Maybe you put it in your cart for that.

Anyway, I hope its real. I'd go for it myself but with three as it is I can't claim necessity and I don't think I could afford what the wife would want in trade.

Do let us know how it goes. Having these boards sitting in a warehouse collecting dust is criminal so I am glad to see them coming out on the market and especially at a reasonable price.

Well, I ordered one also. I figure, what the worst that could happen? Have $290 of credit tied up for a few months?

The seller is listed as "amazon.com", so I wouldn't be surprised if Amazon found a bunch in one of their warehouses. $290 is about the price they were asking a couple years ago.

I would love to have a "backup" sitting in the closet, just in case

It seems everyone thinks the worst, but here's what I think:

DVORAK didn't sell as well as QWERTY, so they are dumping the inventory -- either via Apple, or per contract, via Fingerworks. I do believe they have them, but I also think the lead times are despicable.

But, supply and demand being what it is, it's better to have these at that price, than not.

I ordered one last night. I'm not actually getting my hopes up; the whole Amazon page is bare-bones no-details, and I half expect an empty box to show up on my doorstep in a month.

(I'm still bitter (little bit) that I missed the boat just because I took an extra week or two to make up my mind, and that's when FW closed up shop.)

I prefer to be pessimistic, then when things turn out just OK, I am deliriously happy. But if they turn out badly, hey, I was expecting it, no big deal.

This stems from my optimistic point of view things could be worse as opposed to believing they are so bad it couldn't possibly get any worse.

I did not visit this forum for half a month and I miss the biggest news (at least for me) in a while...

I've been using my burgundy dvorak since early 2004 and am petrified of it ever breaking... This is the best news I've seen in a while... The better news would, of course, be if Apple got of their I-podish butts and put our lovely product back on the market..

Anyways, I ordered another one from amazon just now. Here's hoping it is not some extremely cruel hoax... (crosses fingers)...

If this is a hoax, fraud, etc, there is no punishment horrible enough for the perpetrators. Its obvious we are wholely in thrall to these boards and to dangle them in front of us is beyond inhumanity.

Apparently there are issues. We know production has ceased, but a shipping delay of 3 months for something that is likely in a warehouse somewhere? [Or maybe these have been jobbed out somewhere???]

The thing that bugs me the most is that there is seemingly no one to talk with about this. But the good news is that there are no charges to my credit card, apparently as with others who have posted here.

Oh, one more little detail... think I posted this a few days ago... the "supplier" changed from "Amazon" to " Amazon Export Sales, Inc.". Do you suppose the inventory was re-sold? Maybe by Apple? Hmmm...

Bottom line, I will stay with the process, especially since I've gone on a 4-month contract and had to bring one of my Touchstreams to my contract work environment, since I'll be writing courseware most of the day. [Definitely want a spare in the closet at home.]

Anyone else hear from Amazon? Same? Different? Please let us know your experiences with them regarding Touchstream Dvorak orders.

Spoke with an Amazon customer service rep just now ...

Apparently source "A" can't supply quickly or can't supply, so they are continuing to source other suppliers.

He did NOT encourage me to cancel, and promised email updates as soon as they knew more. [I guess that's optimistic, overall...]

Just the same, please allow me to vent..... Aargh....!!! [OK, I feel better now...]
