Disable guest accounts?

Postby nomaded » 16 May 2005, 21:10

Yeah, I know, even if you disable guest accounts, it won't stop anyone from creating a dummy account and posting that way. But, at least if they're required to create an account, they might continue to post with the same account and that way we don't have a whole bunch of posts from various "Guests".

Just an idea...

I second that. Get rid of the idiots who are posting with guest accounts.

I think I posted a comment similar to this before the idiot posts started, but I agree as well.

Agreed. It can only help the signal-to-noise ratio.

I completely agree, and the recent postings prove you are right. Anonynous posting has now been disabled, and I am also removing the offending posts and their direct replies. Other posts in that thread will remain intact.

You're welcome, all.
I leave you guys alone for just a few days and this is what happens, huh? Maybe we need somebody to help as a moderator/co-admin? I don't know all about forum administration anyway, so there would be several good reasons.
