Fraying cable

Post by lee griggs »

Its finally happened. My touchstream has had a fraying usb cable where it meets the casing for the last month and this morning it stopped working.

I wiggled the cable around and got it to work, but am panicking that it will finally stop working.

Has anyone else had a fraying cable and what did they do to sort it out?

I was thinking of taking it into an electronics repair shop to see if they could replace the cable but am worried they will make it worse.

Anyone got any ideas?

cheers,
lee

i'm thinking that they should be able to replace it easily. just pop the cover (you should find some pics somewhere) and solder in a new cable you cut up. just use the old cable to test out the pinning.
