OK, the Mitsubishi idea sounds plausible, I even remember reading about the original patent being for a multitouch surface that was (or was the size of) a desk. But why would Mitsubishi want a NDA? I mean, their product isn't exactly something that end users like ourselves could buy or talk our companies out of buying if the need existed.

Yah, a mystery wrapped in an enigma hidden in a puzzle concealed within the original mystery. At this point, I feel Mitsubishi is the best candidate for 'the buyer' but there are as many questions with them as any other candidate. Heck, we don't even know if there is an NDA, its such a simple thing to say as there's no way to prove or disprove its existence. Fact is we don't know anything for sure other than FingerWorks is no longer open for business and there aren't any products for sale except through resale channels.
All we can do is wait and in the meanwhile, take as good care of our collector's items as we can.

Interesting - they mention FingerWorks as a reference on this page...

Yes, but in 2001 they were still calling it the "FingerBoard", and it still wasn't shipping.moof wrote:Interesting - they mention FingerWorks as a reference on this page...

Don't know if this is of any use or meaning, perhaps its been seen and reviewed already, but just in case that's not the case, here goes:

http://ergo.human.cornell.edu/Conferenc ... HFES03.pdf
It also appears The Human Solution (http://www.thehumansolution.com/pad.html) has a limited number (100+/-) of iGesture pads available at $199. This is apparently the last of the retail stock available.

Good finding, these documents, thanks to Rqyteqto.
But for this summary of Westerman dissertation, I can tell you that, even if it's much more lengthy, the original dissertation is also more interesting to read, look at figures, ...and understand
