I have just found a new user on this forum that posted nonsense replies to five random discussions, apparently with the sole purpose of promoting certain casino-related website addresses. This is spam and is not tolerated. As a consequence, this user and all his posts have now been deleted.
Let me take this opportunity to clearly state that such spam attempts will not be tolerated, and violations will be deleted without notice.
Rule of thumb (non-legal wording):
Act like a normal person, and you will be treated like one.
Act like a spammer, and you will be treated like one.

I remember reading somewhere that "spam" could be an acronym for Slime Posing As Meat.trogdorix wrote:but spam is so tasty!
Canned meat for all!

But more ontopic: perhaps judicious use of Captcha on registration and on posting could reduce the likelihood that a spammer would get in here in the first place?
I've just upgraded the forum software to the newest version because it includes captcha, but even so it's just a matter of the spammers being obnoxious enough :-/Msquared wrote:use of Captcha on registration and on posting could reduce the likelihood that a spammer would get in here in the first place?
