Re: iGesture with spurious keystrokes

This sounds more like something caused by a new cell phone than by static electricity. Definitely take any and all static electricity prevention and elimination precautions to prevent damage to your fingerworks device, but in this particular case, you probably need to stop sitting something that use...

Re: Suggestion: U.S. International & MacNTouch / DigiTouch

Are you talking customizing the fingerworks product to do this, or just something in general? For the record, US International CTRL+ALT+Z is æ and CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+Z is Æ. I'd say most anything you could build the way you're describing already has a shortcut, but I could be wrong.

Re: Dead Touchstream LP Fully Repaired

The FPGAs themselves don't have programming... I think the programming is in the separate flash... I think you are referring to the configuration, while isaacs is referring to the actual chip that runs the sensors. On that note, based on the post reference here , I think a special programmer is req...

Re: What is the typing surface made of?

I think it's a thin layer of lexan, but I'm not sure where you'd get it. Also, that is based on my memory from a long time ago, probably in the official forums, and even if I am remembering correctly, someone may have used the terms lexan and plexiglass interchangeably even though they aren't exactl...

Re: Kyrstellaine

Actually, I've gone the complete opposite of the "zero force" of the Touchstream. When I'm not typing on a laptop, I'm typing on a Truly Ergonomic Computer Keyboard with CherryMX Brown keys. I love the columnar layout and the split angled layout, over the Typematrix. I thought the Truly E...

Re: Kyrstellaine

I absolutely hate not being able to do gestures, and typing too much hurts even on this even though it's way better than a standard keyboard, but I didn't really feel I could afford to stay on the FW boat after one of mine got zapped (it got zapped overnight at work, presumably by a cleaning lady or...

Certainly update us if you give something a try, however, depending on how sophisticated the bots are, you might not want to publicly admit what you're trying.

Re: Kyrstellaine

Since muscle memory is being discussed, I will point out that I now use TypeMatrix keyboards in Dvorak and have unloaded my TSLPs. It wasn't difficult at all to get used to using Dvorak on the Typematrix, and it didn't make the automatic switch on standard qwerty keyboards any more difficult. Intere...

Re: Annoying automatic left/right hand recognition, iGesture

Very interesting. No doubt even more frustrating being that you're tired when it happens. Are you friends with a potential third partywho is analytical enough to watch you use it when it works and when it doesn't and spot the slight physical difference that you're obviously unable to intentionally c...

Re: and another Kickstarter project with promise

They've exceeded their original funding goal by over 10% in less than 6 days. Amazing. Now I'm a little more concerned about Apple. I didn't notice the retail value on the product was only going to be $70 either. Hadn't even heard of the leap motion. Have you used it? It doesn't look like it would d...

Re: and another Kickstarter project with promise

Looks neat, and would be awesome if it came to be with the degree of customization fingerworks offered. I would think the biggest concern is the fact that they are making it in China. I say this because it seems like common knowledge that anything sent off to China is copied/stolen and used/counterf...

Re: What is the future of Fingerfans?

I don't plan to be there, but I don't have any FW devices anymore, so it wouldn't really matter. Would it be possible to preserve all of the files and information previously archived here for those with a need? That's about all that really matters. Speaking of those with a need, I still have 5 new r...

Re: Xwinder - how does it work?

Lee, to be sure, did you find the source code? I would expect to have a copy of it, but I can't find it. I am guessing it is included in the driver installer for Mac OS X and Windows, but it may bethat I failed to obtain it when I was trying to collect everything. Let us know, because if you didn't ...

Re: Silver TouchStream LP Dvorak an eBay

The wrist rest can be removed from the TECK. http://xahlee.org/kbd/i3/truly_ergonomic_keyboard_2.jpg I haven't found a need to do so myself. I don't know if I knew that or not, but that doesn't solve the real problem, which is the lack of a square front end to mate the rollermouse with. IOW, in ord...

Re: Silver TouchStream LP Dvorak an eBay

These days at work, I'm using a Truly Ergonomic Computer Keyboard (I like its layout/key feel better than the TypeMatrix). I'm not thrilled with the TypeMatrix and don't want to move on; I just don't want to keep trying to find replacements for work, where I believe a unit was killed while I was go...

Re: Silver TouchStream LP Dvorak an eBay

I hope I don't need to take you up on that, too. I sold a burgundy one in not quite as good of shape on eBay a month ago for about the same amount (listed at $599, but not free shipping), of course it only got one bid, but then I sold a non-working burgundy one for $200 through the forum after that.

I wouldn't say it works well for me, I would say it is tolerable. I wish I could keep the TS going with full benefits on newer OSes and not worry about its ultimate demise, but as I can't, I will relist until it sells.

Re: Burgundy TouchStream LP Dvorak on eBay

For anyone wishing to know, I shipped the defective TouchStream on 5/9.
Meesters, please let me know when you receive it and please let us all know if you are able to make a working unit out of this one and the one you already have. Thanks,

Re: Silver TouchStream LP Dvorak an eBay

Bailing as in "leaving zero-force typing behind" or (as you put it in my previous thread) "abandoning ship". I thought I posted somewhere that I switched to a TypeMatrix 2020 (where I use Dvorak) with a Contour RollerMouse Free 2 at work (I have now done the same at home), but ma...

Silver TouchStream LP Dvorak an eBay

I have listed my silver TouchStream LP with dvorak layout on eBay.

I guess this means I'm bailing. I didn't like having a different setup at work than at home.
