Re: Torben Gundtofte-Bruun (again)

Torben, I've always been against paying extra (10-20 times as much) for a keyboard simply because it is hard-wired for dvorak. That is to say that I, believe that OSes should better support it. Unfortunately, I don't imagine it ever gained internationas recognition, so there isn't much reason for th...

Re: MacNTouch out of service, help or support needed

Bastien, Since you obviously can solder, from which I am inferring you have some electrical tools and skills, do you have a multimeter? Have you verified that the USB pins don't show a short with the ohms setting? This seems like the first thing I would check, even before going to another computer t...

I'm not sure how helpful this post will be, but here are some links that might be relevant: The first is from Minox in helping someone troubleshoot, I link to it because the guy seemed to know what he was talking about: http://fingerfans.dreamhosters.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=627&p=2675&hi...

Awww... please fix it soon... Also, have a private message waiting for me that I cannot get. Minox, Good to see you're still around. Do you do repairs on our devices? I would say if the Linux kernel has been changed, then you could probably boot with an older kernel just for the purpose of using the Linux version of the FW drivers. In that scenario, you could potentially use the same partitions you already have for your install. Alternatively, perhaps you could b...

I doubt it as well, but seeing as how the site indicates that the devices are no longer being manufactured, someone could try. However, it would be pointless for someone who doesn't know what is needed to put forth the effort.

I have thoughts, they are a bit cynical, but don't take offense, my bitterness is certainly not aimed at you. 1) I couldn't care less if there is any grphical response, but I can pretty much guarantee you that a display isn't going to last anywhere near as long as the simple lexan touchpads we have ...

You are describing an escrow service, and such a thing does exist, but you could just set up an eBay account and then they should have buyer protection.

I don't really know much about the whole repair side of things, but since N means noisy and you can't even use your tablet because of interference, I wonder if you could take your mini to work, or to someone else's house and see if the problems go away. I noticed that the first diag you did had the ...

Suggestion: U.S. International & MacNTouch / DigiTouch

I don't know if anyone has left suggestions like this in other posts, but I wanted to create this topic specifically to address what Torben and another user were dscussing in the wiki regarding layouts and key counts on the MacNTouch. Personally, I keep my old keyboard Qwerty for gaming and use my T...

I am interested, but I am not certain that I will be in a position where I can afford to buy. That said, I am wondering if we should establish rules on what being on the list means. This sounds familiar to me, though it might have been the tap action being used (along with the slide action) when a slide was issued. That is discouraging, but I find it hard to believe (though not impossible) that the keyboard can be considered at fault when it doesn't lock up other computers' USB ports. Is your WinXP install up to date (Microsoft Update & Whatnot)? What kind of computer is it? WinXP has native USB support, b...

Torben, Do you have a mouse attached to the computer as well? It would be wise to try to left click with it when the iGesture is misfiring. It could plausibly leave you relieved to find out that your iGesture isn't the problem, or it could at least reaffirm the fact that said iGesture is haunted. ;)...

Torben, Now that I think about it again, my TS seems to do that on ocassion (right click instead of left). I usually replug when it happens, but I always assumed it was a Windows problem. I usually have other issues at the same time, and it ussally is related to a stickykeys accesibility option (eve...

Cerin, I don't disagree with you on either of your points (1: lacking physical feedback, typing is more difficult 2: the typematrix certainly looks like the two sides are painfully close together), however, I thought you should know that the benefit of non-staggerd keys on the TouchStream keyboards ...

Hey Torben,
Just a couple quick thoughts. If you unplug/replug, does it change back? Also, if you customized the pad, did you make your customization files from a clean default config?

I might actually stop visiting due to mouseover ads or ads that make sound, but making posts longer (because they aren't as wide) would bother me.
