Sounds like your TS has gotten a 'Touch of Dutch'. That inversion of the Z & Y keys is exactly how a German TS is set up. Where or how your board could have 'contracted' this is beyond my imagination, at least the part I am willing to acknowledge publically. If you figure this out, I am interest...

I wanna see, I wanna see!

All the touchstreamy gore all the time.

Actually I am just too chicken to even think of opening mine up but I am curious as can be about what it looks like in there.

Welcome thenn, talking to yourself and especially replying to your own posts is a very good sign. Most everything works better the more you believe in it. That said, its best to provide plenty of soft padding below you when you try to fly using the Hitchhiker (forgetting to hit the ground when you f...

Not all of those were $500. Some are in the $50 range. But Torben is right. Even if you don't have a tent stand, it really shouldn't be that difficult to make up something, even for the shop-impaired among us. A nice piece of wood would do. Or get a shop to cut and bend you a bit of 3/32" aluminium ...

aluminium cases

Hey isaacs, I've been thinking about building a case for my TS, just in case but even for around the house should kids or whatever other dangers arrive. I don't really have the tools or a workshop for doing aluminium either, I doubt most people do. But a very viable option is to buy a pre-built alum...

Well. perhaps I am in error, but one of the first things we could all do is to destroy our boards along with any and all software. Just to be sure, we should also dissassemble any machines they were ever attached to and have the parts crushed, then melted down and cast into components for a new spac...

No such occurances here. I agree with Torben about trying a different port and then uninstalling/reinstallling FW. If that doesn't solve the problem, then I would give it a try on a different machine and then a different machine with a different OS and so on. If the problem transfers, it would likel...

I realize this isn't much of a reply but frankly, does it matter? A rose is a rose is a rose and still smells as sweet whatever name you give it. So, what advantage is there in a change? What disadvantage? If it helps at all, I have a free registration available. Lastly, Torben, what is this costing...

Ah, didn't notice that, the blackguard! Well, wouldn't hurt to ask if that could change, the worst the seller can say is 'NO!". In any case, its a listing. Better than none at all and if someone is successful, that is presumably one less person looking and competing for the next one that comes up.

Is your question about 'plasma balls' rhetorical or are you seeking the answer? I suppose it could be used as you suggest, but it would be more for show than anything else. The Fingerworks hardware works by measuring capacitance, not the flow of electrons, so it would be different in that respect. I...

Not sure what you mean by the language in the ?PU. The programming language is XML, you might want to download the various files from the FingerWorks website and then take a look at the Wiki for the Manual that ivanw and Torben put up. http://fingerfans.dreamhosters.com/bin/view/Main/XmlManual The t...

No, the ST was the now standard TouchStream boards (two separate pads connected by a ribbon cable) but mounted on the aluminium 'tent' structure. The LP was just the ST without the tent frame. You could get it with or without and use whatever means to mount it. Then LP designation sort of exstrapola...

Frankly, I've never seen that version. It must be, as you suggest, a very early prototype. I note the one article is dated July of 2001. The LCD overlay must be a reflective type without the backlight or perhaps its not even an LCD, that would seem an expensive investment to just accomplish the colo...

Welcome Sad to hear your situation but you never know what will come. Watch EBay, relentlessly. Check out Craigslists, all of them, you never know and everywhere is now only a couple of weeks away, at most. More likely a couple of days. There are some of us working on giving the iGesture boards some...

I had thought about that possibility, but it would have to be combined with OLED, not LCD, at least the multi-touch hardware side of it and the boys seem very much to be a team act. The reason is LCD requires the backlighting so the touch sensors would have to be both transparent (or at least highly...

Okay, I am replying mostly just so you wont's shut up and go to hell. First off, Yoda would say, "Fell gesture you must, monitor not." Let's just hope they have not sold out in vain. As you say ivanw, "this technology might become the universal mean(s) to communicate with computers". However, if history stalls long enough, other, better, technology will supplant it. Or not. Meanwhile, we gots what we gots and we can try to make the...
