Re: Functionally Identical

functionally indentical? i.e. the only difference between them is what is printed on the surface. Yes, the physical product is exactly the same - the only difference being a) the print on the surface (it's actually on the backside of the transparent surface) b) the firmware revision which you can u...

Of course there's a way to map that right Shift key to Enter instead -- but why? The thumb+pinky gesture does an Enter as well, and you can gesture it anywhere -- with either hand! Or you can use three fingers on both hands at the same time -- that's Enter, too. And there's still the smaller Enter k...

Will I like the "feel" of touch-typing on an LP? YES!! the Kinesis keyboard doesn't have the ability for gestures, etc. But it seems like typing would me more comfortable and pleasing If you say so :) Honestly, once you've tried a zero-force surface, you'll never want to go back. It's like back whe...

What's your typing speed?

On the old forum, there was a thread about people's typing speeds. Let's resume that measurement here:
1) Go to http://typera.tk and complete the test called "English sentences, 2 min." (or your own language, if present). Do a few practise runs if you like.
2) Post your results to this topic.

Re: Is it a public company?

wouldn't it have to be in their annual report, or SOMETHING?!? Probably, but then we'd have to wait until next fiscal year and sieve through all the multi-billion dollar software and hardware companies . Besides, Microsoft for one doesn't list assimilated businesses in their public report. I just m...

50 megs in one file? Wow.
Well, no problem, I have now removed the upload limit completely.
But people still need to download it again, so the smallest possible filesize = compressing the files would be a good idea anyway.

I'm no *nix expert, so I'll leave it to you to choose the compressor.

We can get the domain name fingerfans.[com/net/org] if we want -- but do we want it, and if yes, then which one to choose? That's what this topic is about. Please vote, and add comments if you feel like it. I have the option of one free registration, so if you wisely suggest to register all of com/n...

Update after four months of zero-force typing

I thought I'd write a short summary of how I'm doing with my TouchStream keyboard, now that I've used it for four months. On typing: I'm still not up to my usual writing speed, and I don't think I ever will be. The lack of tactile feedback slows my typing and reduces my accuracy. I hit wrong keys mo...

Yes, the forum and the wiki website are separate systems (sorry!). You need to register as a user in the wiki system as well.

You're more than welcome, it's a good idea. I guess it will have to be entered into this forum by hand, one post at a time.
It would perhaps be smarter to distill the gems of the old forum and create new wiki pages in the Fingerfans website instead.

Rayheck: Perhaps your pad is not defective after all -- check your desk for any sources of static. If you have a cell phone, fluorescent lights or other sources nearby, that might give you a hard time. Move things a few feet away and it should work better.

Should we have avatars?

Just because the forum software offers avatars, that doesn't mean we must use them. On the other hand, it might be a nice personal tough to these bare walls. How do you feel about this?
