TLSP (US Qwerty) on Ebay for $30

It's listed as NEW IN BOX and has a current price of $30. I guess it's a bargain if anyone wants it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FingerWorks-TouchStream-LP-Keyboard-New-in-Box-/390964591235?ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:AT:3160 (As usual, I have absolutely no affiliation. Re: Fully working FingerWorks software in a virtual machine

device it disappears from the VM (goes into DFU mode). The VM software can see this USB device but it cannot map it to the VM OS, it says it's busy. Hmm, I vaguely remember running WinXP in some virtualization tool (wasn't Sun VirtualBox) on Win7 and I noticed this effect too -- the FW device prese...

USB TypeMatrix 2030 on Ebay

Ebay is currently listing this TypeMatrix 2030 for $15. It seems to be mint condition and has blank keycaps so one could use some of their silicone overlays with any desired layout.

I'm just sharing this. I have no affiliation whatsoever.

Re: I'm Baaaaack.

So the programming software does not work on, say Windows 7 or 8? Well, haha, the software works but what fails is Java's USB interface, so you can't deploy your configuration to the device, nor can you check the device status and surface sensors. Yeah, I know, same result... bummer indeed! What wo...

Re: Fully working FingerWorks software in a virtual machine

You're so close! I'm sure you can make it work without having to dig up a separate physical computer: cannot apply changes to the keyboard because of the USB issue when the keyboard is rebooted The FW keyboard identifies as one device in normal operation but as another one while it's being programme...

Ugh, annoying :-/ Please report back when you get it to work, so that we can add that Java installer to our download page - for the benefit of other users that will follow your steps.

Re: Fully working FingerWorks software in a virtual machine

Our download center (http://fingerfans.dreamhosters.com/download/) has this PDF (http://fingerfans.dreamhosters.com/download/TouchStreamBooklet.pdf and the four-corner touch is described on pages 16-19: four-corner touch + Shift-V switches to Dvorak, and four-corner + q gives you Qwerty. And yes, do...

Re: Fully working FingerWorks software in a virtual machine

How can I get the V1.6 utilities installed? Since we don't have v1.6 including Java, I would first install v1.53 including Java and then install v1.60 excluding Java afterward. You should end up with the new FW version and the Java version from the previous FW package. Have you tried that? Did it w...

Re: device is dead, only lasted 8 years!

As much as I hate to say this, our devices have become very cheap on Ebay these days. They used to sell for many, many hundreds of dollars (even as high as $2000!) but no longer. So if all else fails, you can probably get a "fairly cheap" replacement from Ebay. Or check in our marketplace ...

All FW downloads in one place!

I wanted to announce that I have found nearly 600MB worth of FW downloads in my backup archives and I am making them publicly available now! Look in the "official software" forum . These files still ought to be sorted and nicely linked from other topics in this subforum, but this is a sign...

Re: Annoying automatic left/right hand recognition, iGesture

Hi David!
O man I'm sorry t hear that you're still troubled by this. I haven't had any similar experiences and no ideas to help you on.
Do you have more than one FW device, and if so is only that one affected? That could reveal whether it's a device problem or operation.

Re: Colemak: Dvorak is so last century

Yep, platform availability is a huge factor, and also hands-down the most important reason why I've now also chosen to learn Dvorak and none of the other (more enticing!) alternatives. If I were only using Linux machines, it would probably be easy, but my Windows workstation at work is locked down p...

I was thinking to add something into the TSLP configuration. I didn't realize that your Ctrl+Alt examples were actual mappings. Re: Suggestion: U.S. International & MacNTouch / DigiTouch

I don't know if I missed it originally but I came across this just now. Using combos with dead keys (that's what they're called, although zombie keys might be more fitting because they turn out to not be really dead after all!) is a neat trick that gives me a new idea: I'm wondering whether I can de...

Re: Colemak: Dvorak is so last century

Colemak is nice and all, but there's an even better layout, proven by statistical evaluation. It's called the Workman layout and it looks interesting. My biggest concerns are a lack of international characters, and lack of OS support. Of course Linux has it covered, but Windows and Android ... not s...

Re: New Apple iPad Multi-Touch Keyboard

This looks interesting! Thank you for sharing. I'm glad to see that they are *finally* doing something in the keyboard area! It's no surprise that they are going to use it for the iPad first. Perhaps a desktop model will follow, and (*really* perhaps) that desktop model could be used with non-Macs a...

Re: Fingerworks TouchStream LP in excellent condition

It's sad to see that our devices aren't getting higher prices anymore. I guess it mostly indicates a shrinking user base; too few people who understand and appreciate the devices.

Re: Hello From Los Angeles!

@jmadison, I used to have a TSLP on my desk at work but the cleaning ladies are so careless that I come back to a rather disrupted desk in the morning. I don't want to risk any damage to this unit, so I'd rather have it as a spare than have it damaged by others. I have a TLSP at home with a Danish l...

Re: Hello From Los Angeles!

Hi Ron - and welcome! The point in the cable that you mention is known to be a weak point, but as you already figured out, the fix is fairly uncomplicated: pop it open and re-solder the cable. The biggest hurdle is opening the case. There are a number of locking tabs along all four sides, and it's v...

Re: What is the typing surface made of?

I can confirm this; I also remember that it's lexan. It was mentioned on the original website which also stated that the lexan is clear and the layout is printed on the underside to make you you won't ever be able to rub it off during use. The sample Digitouch I received came disassembled and includ...
