Re: mousing on both sides of a TouchStream?
Hi, I'd like to be able to use both sides of my TouchStream for mousing, but it appears that you can only enable one at a time. Anyone know if there's a way to do this? It should be fairly trivial to do this from the MyGesture Editor. If you actually want to do this, and have it act the same way on...

What jono said. If you look at a regular keyboard that came with a Windows PC, look to the right of the spacebar. You'll see the right alt key and next to that, on the right, is the equivalent of the "Popup" key that's on the TouchStream. Hitting it, in Windows, will bring up the Context Sensitive M...

From what I recall of the discussions on the old forum, the keyboard worked fine for typing, mousing and gesturing. The problem was that you couldn't run the Multitouch Utilities/MyGesture Editor, so you couldn't upgrade the firmware nor could you edit your layout/gestures and upload them to the key...

I would also suggest turning on some kind of audio feed back. I found it very helpful getting used to the slightly different key layout when I first got my MacNTouch (from using my old TouchStream Stealth). You can run some 3rd party software for Windows, and OSX has it builtin (under Universal Acce...

A few things I would like to point out: -> Before the official demise of the company, fingerworks mentioned that one of their partners had a supply of MacNTouches that they wanted to unload . I can't find where I read this, but I got the impression that this was an HP/Compaq project. -> One "problem...

Re: Usage of the TouchStream
My biggest problems lie with Capitalization of letters on the left pad, typing 'h' when I want an 'n', 'i' instead of 'o' and getting an 'n' instead of a space or in the case of AutoCAD, a return/enter. I am hoping I can increase the size of the SHIFT on the right pad, decrease the size of the 'N' ...

Layouts are fully stored in the firmware of the keyboard. The software you can download from FingerWork's site (at least for now) will give you full access to changing/tweaking the layout and some of the behavior of the gestures. The software (MultiTouch Utilities) is Java based, so it should run on...

MacNTouch internal USB extension cable
Anyone know where I would be able to find an internal USB extension cable, much like the ones that come with the Silver MacNTouches?
Anyone know what this type of cable is called? I'm not having much luck at Digikey.com trying to find something that even remotely fits the description.

Well to answer my own question, I have come up with the following (minor) changes: - The right-of-RH-pinky column is changed so that it is more like the QWERTY layout: "-_" is next to '0', "\|" is next to 'L', and "/?" is next to 'S'. - Following the bradheintz suggested LH punctpad changes, I chang...

new to dvorak, better ?/ placement
For all those Dvorak user's out there, do you have the "?/" in default placement? I ask because I'm trying to learn dvorak (after being a fairly proficient qwerty typist for _many_ years), and since I'm a Unix sysadmin, I find myself reaching for the '/' key fairly often. I never needed that reach f...

Yes, it should just be a matter of changing your "keys" in the MyGesture Editor to match the layout you want. -- edited to add the following: And as for changing the "covers", well, if you're switching to Dvorak, you really shouldn't be looking at the surface of the keyboard anyways - at least that'...

Has anyone else noticed that the "view new post" link on the FW forum hasn't beet working? That's what I use everyday to check new topics but I didn't have any results today even though there were several posted even this morning. That link has been working for me since they "fixed" the forums a co...

I dunno. It seems to work for me.
I even tried going to forum/ (by typing in the url by hand) from a machine that I've never used before to visit the forum, and it seemed load up for me.

Disable guest accounts?
Yeah, I know, even if you disable guest accounts, it won't stop anyone from creating a dummy account and posting that way. But, at least if they're required to create an account, they might continue to post with the same account and that way we don't have a whole bunch of posts from various "Guests"...

Re: Pain Question
I think all the mousing is the cause of my pain. I would suggest that you try a trackball. I started using a trackball, for most of my computing, before I found and switched to a TouchStream-based solution. I personally like the bigger trackballs that you use your fingers to move, rather than the s...

Yeah, fingerworks (Administrative user) made reference to a stash of MacNTouches that were being used for some project, but now they want to unload them. I hope that is still in the works. I would definitely be interested in picking up another one.
