I used to develop against some RFID hardware that caused some problems. I had to be sure to keep the antenna pretty far away from my TouchStream or the mouse pointer would dance and I would get random characters on the screen. I also noticed the buzzing in the headphones. I am not sure what to do ab...

Money makers should give a damn. The truth of the matter is that I would have paid twice as much as I did for my TouchStream. And hell, if you look at Ebay, many people have spent that much getting TouchStreams. So, I know that I am not alone in this. I researched mouse and keyboard replacements on ...

I found the change that I need to make. Well at least I think that I did. I need the Windows DDK in order to compile the app. There was another project that I wanted to work on that needed it as well, so I just ordered it. It should come on CD in a few days. I only paid for shipping and handling. I ...

It would be nice to finally know what company we can start bugging to put these devices back on the market. Can you believe that I almost cried when I thought that my TouchStream was broken forever? It is only a keyboard, but it has become so much more to me. I want others to become just as crazy ab...

Those installed from the setupfw160.exe seem to be the last available as long as links to the on-line version are broken. The release notes says that there was no difference between 1.53 and 1.60. I am downloading 1.53 right now. (I just tried the URL and it worked. Maybe we can use this to archive...

The magnetic edges have always bugged me. Turning the option off (setting it to none) seems to have no effect. Today it bugged me enough that I thought I would take a peek at the source and fix it. The trouble is there is no mention of the magnet edges in the source code. After wondering if I was cr...

Microsoft Terminal Services eats shift modifier
Has anyone else had any trouble with Microsoft Terminal Services and the shift modifier (all fingers on home row). Typing on my "guest" keyboard works fine. Using the actual shift keys also seems to have trouble. If I hold down the shift modifier and then start typing, the first and sometimes second...

I still look down from time to time, but I think that I have just made a subconscious conversion table in my mind. I guess that is how I handle finger drift. I just glance down and I know that M is in the same spot on both layouts and Qwerty('l') == Dvorak('s'), J == H is probably the one that I use...

You should use Scrapbook instead. It will go much faster. And it does a better job than Firefox's built-in page save support. I use it all the time, but I never thought to try it on the FingerWorks forum. I'll have to try this when I get home. I doubt that my employer will appreciate the surge in ba...

This is the same thing that I thought a while back. It seemed to me that at least some information regarding a one million dollar sale would be listed in an annual report. I scoured the web in general and the university web site and came up with nothing. I was not able to find an annual report anywh...

I took a more balanced approach to the switch. I bought MasterKey and spent at least an hour or two with the typing tutor every evening. While at work, I would start my morning in Dvorak, and then switch back to Qwerty when I could not take it anymore. I tried to make it a little more each day. Whil...

Okay. I lied. I could not wait that long. I am typing this post on my repaired TouchStream. I took a bunch of pictures, and I will post a link with all the juicy details later. The short version is that the ribbon cable just completely tore. The new one does not have a logo on it but, it works just ...

Thanks for the tips. I think it may just be best to take shots from farther away, and then crop them manually. I was getting very close, and I bet that the focal length was the largest problem. It was not something that I had thought about. I have not seen the open board either, though I did get a p...

I tried to take pictures, but my camera must not be very good because all of the close ups came out very blurry. I will give it another try when I get the replacement cable. I know that it is a little off topic, but if you have any tips on how to take decent close ups with a 2.0 mega-pixel camera, I...

Thanks for the information. I ordered a replacement last night. I took the left side apart last night, so that I could try to disconnect and then reconnect the ribbon cable. This did not have any affect on the diagnostics results. Hopefully the replacement will work. I will keep you all posted. By t...

TouchStream: short in ribbon cable
I think that my TouchStream has a short in the ribbon. I carry my TouchStream in my bag to and from work. I fold it over with the usb cable coiled between each half and I keep it in a safe position when it is in my messenger bag. After I took my TouchStream out of my bag this morning, I noticed that...
