Re: Converting from Qwerty to Dvorak layout?
Yeah, I just printed out a copy of the dvorak layout and put it at the bottom of my monitor (which is on risers), then just used that. For a short while, I was also using a digitouch labeled in dvorak as my primary keyboard, but I never really looked at it much. Now I've had to switch to using my b...

Re: Brainstorm: How to enhance the Touchstream haptic experi
Alright, team. Here's the deal. I love this technology. I love this device. But, right now I'm typing at around 140wpm and that includes any symbols numbers etc that you throw at me. Currently, I'm working on my Touchstream about 4-6 hours a day and then switching to my regular keyboard to actually ...

Re: Fully working FingerWorks software in a virtual machine
Torben, I have gotten the VM configured and my touchstream passes sensor tests. However, when I launch the gesture editor there are no gestures on the left at all. When I try to make configurations on the right then TRANSFER TO DEVICE it says, "The configuration you've been editing is for another pr...

Re: Brainstorm: How to enhance the Touchstream haptic experi
Another improvement that I would have made to the Touchstream would be to increase the V shape of the touch pads. I find myself having to straighten my arms before I start typing.

Brainstorm: How to enhance the Touchstream haptic experience
I'm getting back into using the Touchstream after 7 years of using an MS4000 with DVORAK. At first I wasn't sure that it was going to be possible. Then, I realized that I had gotten lazy with my typing. Once I had started using the proper fingers for each letter every time things became much easier....

That's currently my option however I'm working on setting up a vm to update my gestures.nomaded wrote:Instead of using a blank key, you could use the "hand key" which, when mapped as a Windows device, acts like the Win key.

Re: Using Multitouch Utils with Windows 7 (x64) ?
Is it possible that the driver is still there and functioning but it is not being recognized by the utilities? Xwinder still works and there is not any loss of function with the keyboard that I am aware of... I am not sure how this works but isn't the driver stored in the keyboard and installed whe...

Re: Windows meta key
the lower row is alt but i have a modifier chord (lh 1 2 3 and 5) which allows me to do win + r which is good. But, I'd still like to be able to just tap a chord to pop up the start menu. Any thoughts?

Windows meta key
Hi, I have been able to configure my gesture feature-set pretty well minus one feature. My windows gesture doesn't seem to work. What gesture is it supposed to be anyway?

Re: How to not appear slacking?
I think that a good strategy would be to record the sounds of you playing Quake 3. Then, loop it over your speakers while you're working. Make sure that you're productive and getting things taken care of.

Re: Converting from Qwerty to Dvorak layout?
I personally suggest against relabeling the keyboard for educational reasons. I suggest printing the dvorak layout onto paper, then gluing or taping it to a piece of cardboard then attaching it to the side of the top of your monitor. It's more appropriate and more convenient to not be constantly loo...

Hello, I'm a long time Fingerworks fan.
My name is Shawn McCool and I purchased a Touchstream LP back in the mid 2000's. I loved it. I'm a human interface junkie and I work on computers all day long. About that time I switched to Dvorak and haven't looked back. When I heard that Fingerworks was going out of business I became nervous that ...

Buying ribbon cable replacements?
I've been searching the forum for a place to buy ribbon cable replacements. Any suggestions? After doing some more searching online it appears that these are the right cables. I don't know how they attach but there seem to be other threads about replacing the ribbon cables already. http://search.dig...

Re: Using Multitouch Utils with Windows 7 (x64) ?
Are you saying that you have to use a virtual machine, install your apps to it, use your fingerworks touchstream lp with it. then close it when you're done? Or, are you saying that you use the virtual machine to configure your touchstream lp so that it'll work the way you want it to in windows 7?
