Looking to trade QWERTY for DVORAK
I've got a basically brand-new (actually found a company who had one of these sitting on a display shelf!) Burgundy QWERTY that I would like to trade for a DVORAK of any color. Anyone interested?

Horizontal Scrolling and Mousing
It seems that with the latest incarnation of MyGesture, and the LP, that there is an option for 'Scroll Mouse Point ' in right-hand 5 finger gesture... The icon for this gesutre has vertical and horizontal arrows. Of course, the 4 fingertip version of vertical scrolling feature only shows this icon ...

Yes, I tried it a while back after my LP was stolen, as a replacement... It's *very* nice if you touch-type dvorak -- however, my big complaints were on key placement. It's compact, but many keys were pushed around and stuff on the edge/corner for the sake of compactness. But it's not a damned lapto...

Chords
I just realized something funny... I was given an IBM Thinkpad to use at work, and the damn things don't have meta (windows) keys on them... Ctrl/Alt/Shift on *both* sides of the keyboard, which is good for perfect typists who can alternate their shifting hand, but ultimately meta is more useful. Al...

That is an amazing price even if it is used... considering how much they go for on ebay. Don't get it because it's a one-of-a-kind, but if the gestures sound useful for you, or you have RSI, or just want to be kind to your body -- then it's a godsend. Be aware that it's is a huge learning curve, you...

Re: I found one!
I should hopefully have a backup for my patched up DVORAK coming soon (from NGIT), but like somenoe else's it's a QWERTZ model. Not ideal but better than nothing - might even teach me not to glance at the keybaord so much. When I was teaching myself DVORAK, it was imperative that I used a QWERTY --...

I found one!
I guess four hours of scouring google and clicking on and emailing link on the internet with `Fingerworks' paid off... Ergonetics had _one_ burgundy Touchstream LS until five minutes ago when I paid for it :D We have 1 in stock out of box never used but does not have any paperwork. It’s just be sitt...

You don't need root -- you need the java software to communicate with the keyboard (needs to be configured on a windows box if I remember correctly... at least certain features). Anyway, /all/ the kbds support all three layouts in hardware, no remapping needed. You just have to tell it which you wan...

I see LP as a solution for people suffering from RSI -- which is a tiny minority of computer users. And of course, only a subset of that group are willing to take the time and expense for a solution. The thing is... how can there not be a solution like this available for people who need this for the...

[Not] To Buy? and the price of comfort
What are everyone's thoughts, based partly on Wayne's response, as to whether to buy from the ebay market, or wait to see the technology in /some/ form again? The other thing to consider is the cost of comfort -- if I could win an auction up to $500 I would probably go ahead and do it -- at the very...

It would be a tragedy if an entire line of knowledge disappeared... Question for law-types: If a company has intellectual property, but then it goes bust and doesn't sell it nor has any plans to (i.e. not in debt), is it forever lost, can it be aquired some other way, can it become public domain, et...

Miss mine so bad...
My LP had been stolen last summer from a card-access only lab... what kind of crap is that. Not like the thief could even use it or sell it at the time either. I had gotten a lot of people around me into buying them too, and I'm the one now who doesn't have one (>_<) It's amazing how so few exist fo...
