Wow. Looks very cool.

And with the iPhone bringing multi-touch to the masses... the possibilities are endless. I can't think of a better way to get people using what is after all a radical deviation from the norm... and once they're using it, they'll want it on their computer...

We can hope :-)

Yep, I got the cancellation mail today.

Sadness.

Ah well, I never really believed it would happen.

Warning about 'second chance' fraud

I lost in one of the above auctions and got a fake 'Second Chance Offer' email from someone trying to get details/payment out of me -- here is a page about the scam: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/10/05/ebay_scam_ruse/ They may be targeting TouchStream keyboards as they are expensive/rare, so I t...

Thanks for doing those layouts images :) My tab key is on the left pad, where the 'Z' key is on QWERTY. Because I moved all the punctuation onto the number/symbol/punctuation pads, I ended up with a key to spare... and found that tab was the best use for it. It is quite a lot of work learning to typ...

I've been using a reach-free layout for almost a year now... sadly I don't get to play with the layout much because that requires a reboot into Windows. (There's Linux support, yes, but I've never gotten it working on my 64-bit system)... Mine's a modified Dvorak layout, though. I decided to learn D...

Doesn't surprise me... if mine broke I would pay up to $1000 to get a new one...

So I'm taking good care of it

I don't think they'll be in production again; some sort of equivalent is likely to arrive eventually... but I wouldn't bet on that happening in the next five years.

Yes, I suspect that's true. The utils don't work on 64-bit Linux, anyway, but you'll definitely be able to use it as a mouse and keyboard.

All you need is enough access to another computer to configure the keyboard.

Heh... Insert is not a useless key... it's what we used back in the days before Microsoft shortcuts. Ctrl+Insert and Shift+Insert for copy and paste... these still work in basically any program and on any OS. So they're useful mappings for gestures :) Besides that, hitting the Insert key will change...

Nice job with the diagrams :) I'll be interested to hear how you get on. One minor note: I have my OS set to "UK keyboard" (because I live in the UK). So the # on the numbad is actually the pound sign (£). And the \ on the symbol pad is actually the hash (#). Of course, you can change those around.....

To be honest I'm not surprised that the current line of products died. Their fatal flaw is switching cost. The price tag is only a small part of that... learning to use mine effectively took about a month. So the effective switching cost in terms of lost productivity is in the thousands of dollars. ...

I would suggest making heavy use of all three pads to eliminate reaches. Instead of taking up three keys with ',. I have those three enable number pad, punctuation pad and symbol pad. Then I have everything I need available under my right hand. Normal: fgcrl dhtns bmwvz Number pad: 56789 01234 +-*£$...

I hope I never work for a dying company :(... at some point it becomes impossible to keep to your promises unless you (and everyone else) are willing to work for nothing. And people who've lost their jobs have other things on their minds. Anyway, I hope this latest rumour is true. If so, I will be f...
