Hi,
I'm selling a Silver Touchstream LP on Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0046837272). It's in excellent condition.

Thanks for the kudos. Glad I could help. I'll also mention that the utils with the included JVM will only work when run as root. Otherwise it complains about not being able to access the USB device. Unsurprisingly, the non-JVM version doesn't work with GCJ (nothing seems to), which is the only other...

Unable to Install MultiTouch Utilities on Linux
When I try to install the utilities in FC5, I get errors complaining about missing libs, even though they're all in /lib. From Google I found this problem might me caused my the line "export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5", and there's even an old patch for setupfw150.bin, but this fix doesn't work for setu...

Mouse Not Working in Linux
I recently bought a Touchstream, and I've been been unable to use the mouse feature in Fedora Core 5. The other basic gestures and keyboard functionality seem to work beautifully. I do have a slighty weird setup, in that I have a wireless mouse, track pad, and Wacom tablet all acting as pointing dev...

I ended up evaluating both the <a href="http://celluon.com/products/laserkey.htm?sm=2_1">Celluon Laserkey CL800BT</a> and the <a href="http://www.itechdynamic.com/en/products_spec.asp?cid=7&pid=07010">I-Tech Virtual Keyboard</a>. My overall impression is that unless you're desperately in need of zer...

Petitioning Apple?
I know there's been a lot of speculation and investigation regarding Apple's acquisition of Fingerworks, but has anyone actually emailed Apple, either to confirm this or petition them to resume manufacturing of Touchstreams? It's a long shot, but it couldn't hurt.

Since you ask: It seems to me that the device essentially "films" your fingers, so in order to type, it must be able to see each finger touch the surface, and do so quickly enough to keep up with your typing speed. I can only imagine that it works by not actually looking at your fingers but rather ...

I've had doubts about the practicality of such a "virtual keyboard" since they were first mentioned in 2002. Please do give us a review of it when you've got it! We're curious and always hungry to learn about alternatives. Yeah, I have my reservations as well, but my RSI has forced my hand (no pun ...

You've all raised good points, and I'd probably concede the point that there's no modern justification for the staggered layout. However, we've not established the lack of a staggered layout holds any advantages of its own. The only rationale I've seen for buying the Touchmatrix is asthetics (it doe...

I'm now over seven months into my TypeMatrix 2030 experience, and I still think it's the best keyboard available at this time. My main reason is the non-staggered layout. No one's explained *why* this matters. Personally, I don't see staggering having any impact at all. If anything, a non-staggered...
