Sad day... Selling my maroon Dvorak LP
This is not my happiest day, but I'm selling my maroon, Dvorak-layout TouchStream LP on eBay: Maroon Dvorak TouchStream LP I'm currently only offering to ship domestically (mainly because the US Postal Service makes shipping internationally a pain in the neck), but if it means a good home for my fav...

My own TypeMatrix 2030 review, and more...
I've posted a three-way review of the TypeMatrix 2030, the Kensington Expert trackball mouse, and Macro Express - these being the tools I've chosen to replace my TouchStream at work. (It has become too fragile to transport.) Interested parties are welcome to come get my perspective (the enthusiast o...

I've got to agree with the cold-turkey approach. I started on a weekend, and just kept at it through all my usual tasks - coding, browsing, email, &c - and by the time the work week rolled around, I was limping along acceptably. Within a couple of weeks, it was no longer a chore and I was no longer ...

I have / and ? mapped to the left hand under the index and middle fingers on the home row in the PunctPad layout, and I have T3F-hold on both hands mapped to PunctPad On. / and ? are now as fast as - and _ - which is great, because I use them a lot. Hope that helps - I have lots of other layout good...

Speirag - I had the same issue with the L key; I think the placement of that key is one of the wweakest points of the Dvorak layout. Anyway, some people have had good results from adjusting the position of the key by a couple of millimeters. For my part, I just had to adjust my typing style to the u...

Re: fingerworks story
Fingerworks was sold to Apple and there will be no more products. Also there will be no more support for any existing customers with warranties. Apple bought the technology. You will see the gesture recognition on the G5 notebooks probably. Cite a reliable source for this "information", or be writt...

My thoughts on the "who" of it were MS, Apple, HP, and IBM. There just aren't that many firms that fit the multi-billion dollar HW/SW vendor profile. And I don't know why such a company would acquire FW - which is a small niche hardware provider - unless they had a specific, medium-to-large vertical...
