KeyMouse on Kickstarter
Another "alternative" has appeared. KeyMouse looks interesting. The major reason I started using Touchstream is because constantly reaching for the mouse or trackball caused arm pain. KeyMouse solves the same problem. I love how the keys are aligned vertically, the keyboard is contoured for easier r...

Re: XWinder
I installed the whole package on Vista. It installed fine. The Multitouch Utilities don't work. But XWinder works.
I ordered a new computer; Windows 8.1 is coming. I'm expecting XWinder to work. I use it all the time.

I always install Java that is included with the Touchstream utilities. Maybe it's included in the package on this site:

Re: iGesture with spurious keystrokes
Check for other causes of interference in the area. I don't remember what else could interfere - maybe speakers, hard drives, bluetooth, wires. I put a grounding wire right next to the keyboard and trained myself to touch it before touching the keyboard. But I still have occasional problems, and it'...

Re: Ah nuts....
I hate that they are granting patents for gestures. It's like patenting the arrangement of letters on the QWERTY keyboard. We get used to a UI and we get stuck because it is so difficult learning a new UI. So the company can keep customers even after the product has become poor. Are we really going ...

This is great info. I'm sure it will be helpful for others, and maybe myself if I have to move to a new computer in the future. Thanks for coming back to the site and letting us know.

Re: Spurious random keystrokes
Attach the keyboard to the keyboard stand with double-sided tape, or glue, or velcro. Make a loop in the cable near the keyboard. Make the loop big enough so half of the loop is under the keyboard stand and the connection to the cable is not stressed. Tape the cable under the keyboard with heavy dut...

Re: Spurious random keystrokes
The only multitouch pads I've seen have been wireless - no ground for discharging. Maybe that's how Apple fixed the issue.

Re: Fully working FingerWorks software in a virtual machine
A few months ago my work computer migrated from WinXP to Win7. I installed VirtualBox and copied the Win2000 virtual machine I am using at home with my Vista computer. I was successfully in configuring my Touchstream with the Fingerworks MultiTouch Utilities. It's certainly not easy; but it's better...

Re: Spurious random keystrokes
Caution! Spurious output from the keyboard could be from static electricity. It's very much the time of year for that in the northern hemisphere, and it's constantly a worry. I've lost two Touchstreams to static zaps. Find some way to discharge yourself before getting near the keyboard. I have a gro...

Re: Just relisted my Fingerworks TouchStream LP on ebay
I would love to buy a spare for when my keyboard eventually fails. But I'm not willing to pay any where near the asking price for a spare. Now I would consider paying US$1000 if my keyboard actually failed and I was desperate. $600 is what I paid last time - and that is double the list price. Even a...

Re: For Sale: FingerWorks TouchStream LP
I love the look of this TrulyErgonomic keyboard. The tactile feedback, narrow width, vertically aligned keys, middle keys, and fewer pinky keys are all great steps forward. The frequently used Alt keys are too tough to reach; the frequently used cursor and paging keys require moving away from home r...

Re: wow - just fell over this :)
I don't think Frogpad is a good fit for the Magic Trackpad - for two-handed people at least. The one-handed Frogpad is great for typing on one hand and mousing on the other hand. Best to just get a real Frogpad keyboard and use that alongside a Magic Trackpad or an iGesture - typing on one hand and ...

Yes, clean the surface even if it looks clean. I thought my keyboard was toast when it was acting odd, causing havoc on my computer. After cleaning it was working like new again. I have no idea what invisible particles were on the surface; but I'm glad it started working again.

Re: Brainstorm: How to enhance the Touchstream haptic experi
The only way I know how to minimize drift is resting palms, and resting fingers on the dimples every few words. Gestures bring all keys around home row, so mobility is not needed. My fingers can reach all the keys around home row - with a big exception. My pinkies have to stretch too much to reach t...

Re: Touchstream keyboard for sale
I never heard of sniping. Now all those lost auctions make sense. I suspected some automated software was the culprit. In the last seconds of an auction, dozens of bids by one or two people appear, and one wins just at the end and only a few dollars more than my max bid. Definitely left a bad taste ...

Re: Fully working FingerWorks software in a virtual machine
I've been configuring my TouchStream using VirtualBox for some time. But I did not know about the tweak to the USB settings. The automatic handling of the USB connection is wonderful. It used to be a pain because I don't use it enough to remember the idiosyncrasies; now I don't have go worry about i...

After having lost two TouchStreams likely to static zaps, I've trained myself to touch a grounded wire when returning to my keyboard. So far so good.

Re: User Poll: Are you still using your FingerWorks device?
I use my TouchStream LPs exclusively. I have two - one at home and one at work. I have lost two TouchStreams to static electricity (I assume), so I know it's only a matter of time before it happens again. I have an ebay search so I can buy a spare. But the ebay sales tend to be much higher than I wa...

I was surprised when XWinder worked in my Vista. It must be using the standard HID USB interface to get that cool functionality. XWinder uses thumb-index-pinky gestures to move and resize windows.
