Re: Building a FW device into a desk?!

As useful as the DigiTouch is, my biggest challenge is that I don't use the US layout and I miss some international characters - I find that even the printed layout doesn't fully match and I can never find the backslash. Bottom line is that I don't really use it and it should go to a home where it ...

Re: A New Hope

Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat as you (RE: Priorities), not to mention that I don't even have a device. In the meantime, the forum is at least functioning, but perhaps someone else is still lurking who can help.

Re: A New Hope

It is unfortunate about the community, but each time someone who needs help can find an answer on this forum, there's probably no where else they could have found it, so as long as you are willing to keep the site going, something to reduce the amount of time you have to spend to do so is certainly ...

Re: Hello from Cambridge, MA!

Welcome to the board. Awesome that the TSLP is still going strong for you. I'm sure I'd still have mine going strong and be better off for it if it weren't for some extenuating circumstances. Good luck with the sell on the digitouches.

Re: Digitouch in Samsung 500T docking keyboard

Really neat, thanks for sharing. Is the white plastic on the edges decorative or does it hold the keyboard in place (the right one is laying on the keyboard instead of in its proper place in the last picture)?

Re: Custom "3 fingers search and middle click" gesture

It certainly looks like some posts are missing, but I really doubt they were deleted intentionally. Regardless, thanks for posting your solution. It is certainly obvious in hindsight, but also easy to see why it took so long to stumble across it.

Re: KeyMouse on Kickstarter

I noticed they had JUST made it on the 28th. That's a lot of money in 24 hours, and then it kept going. Wow. Anyway, I joined their uservoice site (they linked to it from their "vote on your favorite features" post in Ivan's link above) and made a suggestion akin to Xwinder. Any other user...

Re: KeyMouse on Kickstarter

Apparently I've been checking the forum every day, but not logged in, so not seeing new posts. Oops. Anyway, this looks great, but it doesn't look like it's going to meet the funding deadline, which is too bad. They seem to have come pretty far, though, so maybe they can do it without kickstarter?

Re: I'm Baaaaack.

Correct, they do not work natively in Win7 or newer. I haven't had my TSLP's in a long time, but IIRC, the old Java won't install, and the programming drivers aren't compatible. On the off chance that the programming drivers would work in a 32-bit environment, which I doubt, I was able to get the ut...

Re: I'm Baaaaack.

Wow, where did that 8 years go? Welcome back. Unfortunately, most of the change since you left has been continuously decreasing activity. However, there is still the occasional post and some good information on at least attempting to get your devices re-programmed even though the software doesn't wo...

Re: Fully working FingerWorks software in a virtual machine

Also, I am unable to install the V1.6 utilities, even if I have a working version of Java installed (as part of the successful install of the V1.5.3 utilities). The installer quits (so I can't copy across the Java runtime to the V1.6 files). I therefore need to find a standalone version of Java tha...

Re: Fully working FingerWorks software in a virtual machine

I want to change the layout of the DVORAK keyboard I purchased back to DVORAK from QWERTY I seem to remember that there's some kind of gesture built-in for this (but perhaps it's a gesture to swap between Mac&Windows style, or something else). Do you have the reference material? Try searching t...

Re: How do I install FW utilities on Windows 8.1?

For starters, if you have a .bin file, you don't have the Windows version of the utilities to begin with. Beyond that, I got the utilities running in Windows 7 once upon a time, but it was tricky and didn't do any good because there are no drivers for Windows 7. Here is my post explaining why it isn...

Re: device is dead, only lasted 8 years!

Ugh! Sorry to hear about that. It looks like it could be a standard component that you might be able to get from a local electronics store or order from digikey. Unfortunately, it would have been easier to tell what it is before it got burnt, but if you can tell, that would be the cheapest thing to ...

Re: Annoying automatic left/right hand recognition, iGesture

Regarding the left vs right-hand, I'm not sure because I've never had a single pad, only a dual-pad keyboard. You could definitely set each pad to have a specific action for a specific gesture on the keyboards, and I assumed you could do it on the single pad after mis-remembering what you had said a...

Re: Annoying automatic left/right hand recognition, iGesture

Or, when you're tense and not specifically trying to fix the issue, your thumb curls and then number 2 could cause the problem. However, number 3 seems possible as well since it would make sense to detect which hand at the first touch of each gesture (when there is not currently anything else touchi...

Re: Annoying automatic left/right hand recognition, iGesture

Good point on the scroll gesture being active until all fingers are removed. I forgot. Been far too long since I've had a TSLP, but that particular behavior applies to most gestures on most touch devices anymore.

Re: Annoying automatic left/right hand recognition, iGesture

No, it is actually rather short. Obviously you'll have to try anything you can think of, but figuring out what is happening inside the pad could lead to an a-ha moment, so sorry if the questions about your finger length seem personal, but here is another: Is your pinky so short that the pad could t...

Re: Annoying automatic left/right hand recognition, iGesture

Since the cause is clearly not obvious, I wouldn't rule anything out. Trying five finger scrolling sounds especially reasonable if you want five finger scrolling anyway, and it sounds like you do. However, I'm curious as to whether your four finger scrolling is with your fingers together or spread. ...

Re: and another Kickstarter project with promise

Thanks for the update! Doesn't look like it will be likely to do what I described out of the box, and maybe not at all since it can't look at the keyboard from a flat position and see all fingers. ASETNIOP sounds interesting, but unlike Dvorak, it's so not-standard that knowing it would be of limite...

Re: and another Kickstarter project with promise

Thanks for the update. I forgot about this project, but I definitely want to hear how it works. I'm having problems with my right hand now that may not be RSI related, but if this lowered the stress in it in spite of that and helped, it would be wonderful. I was previously thinking it would only hel...

Re: iGesture with spurious keystrokes

Hopefully it's the mouse, but do keep us up to date. Since it sounds like an environmental frequency to me, I'm afraid if it's not the mouse it will be something you can't control (new cell tower or power lines near your house?). I'd like to be wrong and see you find a solution, though. I may have h...

Re: iGesture with spurious keystrokes

This sounds more like something caused by a new cell phone than by static electricity. Definitely take any and all static electricity prevention and elimination precautions to prevent damage to your fingerworks device, but in this particular case, you probably need to stop sitting something that use...
