Re: 3D Printed Keyboard Stand
No, I don't use any non-slip underneath. The pads don't really move around on my desk during normal use, and I do slide them from time to time on purpose to adjust them as I shift my posture throughout the day. There is a type of file that others could use. It is a .stl file, which is typically used...

3D Printed Keyboard Stand
Hey everyone, I made these a while ago on our company's 3D printer, and I figured I'd upload the pic for anyone who's curious. I made them with a compound angle, meaning that the highest corners are where the F2 and F8 keys are, and the lowest corners are the Popup and Pause Break keys. Those actual...

That just floors me how it floated along under $100 for so many days, then BAM! $560 in the last few minutes. Incredible.

Re: Colemak: Dvorak is so last century
Interesting about the l key. I also taught myself Dvorak more than 10 years ago, and have been using it exclusively on my TS since then. The l key is my most difficult key to hit reliably. Once upon a time I modified the TS firmware to move the key down a little bit so that it would be easier to hit...

Re: Hello From Los Angeles!
Oh Torben, I never thought of that before. How awful if Apple would try to take down this website. But, I guess I really don't see why they would. I just keep hoping that someday they'll get back into this business. It's funny explaining to new co-workers about this Qwerty-Mapped-to-Dvorak multi-tou...

Hello everyone! I'm jumping in on this conversation, just because I find the concept of alternate keyboards fascinating. I am like Kyrstellaine. I've had a Qwerty TS forever, and I touch type Dvorak on it at work. I'm using it now. Somehow my brain makes the transition easily between Dvorak and Qwer...

Re: Make touchstream wireless using bluetooth
That's pretty cool. I wanted something like that for a long time when I was using my Touchstream on a homemade "tent" on my lap. I really wanted to be able to have freedom to swivel around in my chair without being constrained by the cord. For quite a while now, I've been using my TS flat on my desk...

Hi Torben, First, I just want to thank you for all the effort you've put into this. It really has helped me, and many others over such a long time. I do totally understand the situation, however, and it may be time to simply "be done". I don't know how many of us there might be, but I'm still using ...

Re: Silver TouchStream LP Dvorak an eBay
The muscle memory thing is funny. I wrote about this in a different post, but I find it easy to switch between Dvorak and Qwerty... as long as the keyboard "feels" right. On my TS, it's Dvorak, no problem. On a "standard" keyboard, it's Qwerty. I don't even have to think about it. It just happens. W...

Re: What software works best with your Fingerworks device?
For me, I notice it the most when I'm -not- using my TouchStream for whatever reason. The one program that I just can't seem to run without my TS is Autodesk Inventor (3D CAD Modeling Software). I have certain gestures set up for pan, orbit, zoom, and find it WAY easier to do it on my TS than with a...

"probably always only be for geeks and RSI victims" That's the conclusion that I'm drawing. I'm both a geek and an RSI victim, and have been a TouchStream fan from the beginning. I keep watching technology and learning more about people in general and I've come to the conclusion that for most people...

Yeah, I'm with you on wanting to have the right layout on it. My biggest trouble comes with the lesser used characters, like the - / \ { } [ ] | and stuff like that. I do a [little] bit of programming, and the special characters are just not in my head the same way that the alphabet is. So, I still ...

Re: Trouble with my TS LP
When I bought my Touchstream keyboard, I was a proficient touch-typist in Qwerty, but had never tried Dvorak. So naturally I bought the Qwerty model. After using it for a while, I decided that I wanted to learn Dvorak. I switched all the computers that I use over to Dvorak mode for a few months whil...

Re: Trouble with my TS LP
I also find that rubbing alcohol works well. I'll get a wad of tissues or a cotton ball wet with rubbing alcohol, and gently wipe down the surface of my TS. It does a good job of getting any kind of buildup or stickiness off of the surface, especially in the corners and edges, where dust tends to ga...

Interesting Topic: I have used my TS at work for years, and never thought about the lack of sound from a co-worker's perspective. Everyone that comes near my desk at some point or another asks me about the TS, so all my co-workers do know that I use an unusual silent device. I doubt they've ever tho...

Well, I bought my LP before the tent-stand was standard equipment. Hence, I don't have a Fingerworks tent-stand. Over the years I have made various tent stands of my own. You can see some of them here: http://sites.google.com/site/madisonnet/fingerworks Right now, though, I have a couple of thin pie...

Re: Converting from Qwerty to Dvorak layout?
I used the same paper-overlay method when I was learning to type Dvorak on my QWERTY Touchstream. My experiences were very similar to yours. One thing that I did have trouble with, though, was that the paper would wear out quickly. It would kind of stretch, or expand with use, and then it wouldn't f...

Hey Everyone! I'm typing this on my TS LP right now. It's a QWERTY, but I've been using Dvorak for years. I still use my Touchstream every day at work. I am an engineer, and do a lot of CAD work as well as a fair amount of database programming. Sometime in the last several months (I can't remember e...
