Hello Fingerfans!

Hi, My Name is Jason. I was pretty active on the former FingerWorks discussion board as "jmadison". I've been reading this one on and off for a while and finally decided to register. BTW... I'm a TS-LP user... it's a QWERTY, but I map it to Dvorak and type in that all the time. I've got two question...

Thank you for your suggestions. Sorry that I have not replied again sooner, I've been very busy lately and have been traveling a lot. I will try your suggestions about the left hand zooming... but that may still be confusing when in practice. I hoped that the TouchStream would be able to reverse the...

When I get a little more time I think I will try both suggestions... using the 5 finger expand/contract to be my "SolidWorks only" zoom, and using the normal scroll zoom elsewhere. The downside here is the muscle-memory reflex. The upside is that both gestures will always be available, and right now...

Help! Multi-Touch Utilities can't find TS

I'm having a problem and don't know how to troubleshoot it. Using a TS/LP connected to a WinXP machine, and whatever the latest version number of the multi-touch utilities is.... When I launch the MyGesture Editor and make a few changes, then try to "Transfer to Device" it can't find the keyboard......

Thank you, thank you, thank you.... That was very simple. I am not much of a Windows fan... I run various Linux distro's on my home pc's, but I definitely do not like to, as you say, "comply with what Windows want to do." I prefer to tell my OS what to do... not the other way around. :D Thank you, t...

Okay, this is weird

Since ivanw helped me with my upgrade problem things have been good. So, I've been playing with some of the 5 finger zoom settings. Well, in the last "transfer to device" I discovered that all of the sudden whenever I press the Y key, I get a Z instead.... and when I press the Z key, I get a Y inste...

Hmmm... that is strange, indeed. I think this is what I'm going to do: Reset my keyboard and all the custom gestures bact to the factory defaults. Then I'll rebuild my custom gestures one by one. I've had several quirky issues like that (for instance loosing the CAPS word gesture) and since I'm usin...

Hi all... me again. Okay, I finally got some time and hand-copied all my gestures so I could remember them. I don't really have a lot of custom gestures. Then I reset the T/S to default... and started a new xml putting my gestures back in. I transferred that to my keyboard, and I am still having the...

Yes, yes, yes.... I totally agree. This request has been sent by thousands of users, and is one of the biggest complaints that the software has. Unfortunately, the company is too concerned with adding bells and whistles to the existing software than they are with making it comply with the rest of th...

Amazing... you guys are regular detectives. I use my TS daily, and read this forum daily, and am very thankful for both of them. I do wish that FingerWorks would come back to life I was hoping they would make a fundamental change to the way that people interact with a computer. But, I am very impres...

Agreed. Now that I have used my TS for several years, I absolutely can't imagine life without it. And, since my primary reason was to help alleviate some serious RSI pains, the cost almost didn't matter. Strangely enough, I now consider my TS much, much more valuable than the laptop that I use every...

I'm certainly no expert at troubleshooting these devices. But, I do have some info and suggestions that may help. Firstly, FingerWorks is no longer in operation. Do not expect any support from the company. They are closed, indefinitely. Next, I suggest that you try the device on at least one other c...

Yes. I guess it depends on how much you need it. I, for one, couldn't do my job without my TS... RSI is too bad. So, -nearly- any price for a FingerWorks product is worth it, depending on the need.

This is just my 2 cent's worth: I'm sticking with my TS until I have to do something else. I understand martin's idea: Get on with something else since this hardware is basically doomed. But I'm also in the same boat, and see things differently. I have RSI in both my hands, wrists, & forearms. T...

With RSI in both left and right hands and forearms, I've also been switching for quite some time now. I actually started mousing with my left hand many years ago, and got pretty good at switching from left to right whenever one hand got fatigued. Soon enough, the mouse was just too much, and I went ...

A little history: I'm 31 years old and have been using computers since I was old enough to type "Load "Program File",8,1" on my Commodore64. One thing I've noticed about learning Dvorak is how my brain automatically switches the layout. It's kind of funny. I got serious about Dvorak about 3 1/2 years ago. At first Dvorak was alien, and qwerty was home. Then Qwerty was alien and Dvorak was home. Now I'm proficient in both layouts. But, th...

screeeeeemin, I am also a cad user... everyday at work I use SolidWorks and AutoCAD. I would like to know what software, and what gestures you use for your daily work. Maybe you have some suggestions that could help me. Of course, I'll type up my experiences too. But, this is perhaps better done in ...

Yes... totally.... I'm thankful that my TS is still in good working order. But, I'm paranoid that it might one day have an accident and just not work. Hopefully -someone- will come out with this tech soon so that we can buy replacements.

Artilce on User Interface... Touchstream Included

Hello everyone... I didn't really know which category to post this in, so here it is. I found this article about User Interfaces, and since it mentions the FingerWorks products as well as other 'gesture' based hardware and software, I thought I'd point it out here. It's very much Mac-centered, but t...

I have had a similar problem with my TouchStream keyboard. But, for me, I think it is dependant on the weather. If the weather is relatively dry, and my fingertips can stay dry, I can easily glide over the surface of the keyboard. But, especially on very humid days, my fingers will tend to stick and...
