Re: Wanted DVORAK touchstream
I have a custom external USB MacNTouch that is super low profile and has a built in USB hub. I have DVORAK and QWERTY skins for it. $800 http://www.tycomsystems.com/fingerworks/USB%20MacNTouch/photo%201.JPG http://www.tycomsystems.com/fingerworks/USB%20MacNTouch/photo%202.JPG http://www.tycomsystems...

Re: USB MacNTouch
If anyone wants a DigiTouch or MacNTouch converted in a similar way (completely reversible) let me know... Cost is $120 and you have a very slim, very light, external multitouch keyboard... Silver surface looks really nice too BTW and matches the current Mac lineup.

Re: Disassembling a FW keyboard
The foam pads do not need to be removed... The small clips break VERY easily, managed to open some igestures and not break any clips a few times. On top of that, there is crazy(r) glue holding the case parts together by the ribbon cable and the USB cord. Here is a good take apart write up: http://ja...

I would recommend opening TextEdit then press and hold the 4 corners of the MacNTouch then set it to "Mac Mode" (option 1). Also, have you run multitouch utilities to see what the diagnostics show? Unrelated, this thread make me chuckle... check the post date: http://fingerfans.dreamhosters.com/arch...

Flex PCB creasing - DON'T DO IT!!!
Hello, When working out the details of recreating these cables, I spoke to many FlexPCB makers and they all said the same thing... DO NOT CREASE them. You want the fold to have a roll to it, as if folding the ribbon over a needle. This way it has a rounded bend as opposed to a sharp crease. Sharp cr...

Torx8
Do you have a Radio Shack(r) near you? I picked up a nice $20 *driver kit with torx, philips and flat bits. It has a spinning handle - like a jewlers screwdriver, and the shaft can extend; it is really nice. It has a wide assortment of sizes down to really tiny torx. If you need me to send you one -...

Wait!!!
Don't open it yet.... First let me tel you that opening it is not usually needed. It sounds like the surface has interference. Have you cleaned the surface with a rag sprayed with Lysol cleaner? DO NOT spray the device directly, only spray the cloth and wipe the device. Opening the unit should alway...

Strange LP behavior
I would be willing to look at it - if it is fixed after I check it out I would ask a small fee to cover my time. Otherwise, I will return it to you as it was sent to me with no service charge.

Static Shock
I have a workbench with a grounded table top covered with a grounded mat on it attached to a anti-static wrist strap for me to wear while working on these units. You can do left hand gestures on the left half of either attached keyboard & You can do right hand gestures on the right half of either attached keyboard. Both work independently, but I not simultaneously. Eric, Thanks so much! The cables I am referring to are seen here: http://www.tycomsystems.com/...

I will accept your terms... Mind you I would like to point out that even being very careful, as mentioned by Fingerworks staff, the fingers that hold the casing together may snap. The case can be held together with a dab of glue but I cannot guarantee the black housings. I will of course do my best ...

I would like to get an encosure.
Do you by chance have any sets of the cables for the MacNTouch for the 15" Powerbook? Although I've made my own from scratch it would be nice to have a set or 2 of the originals. I would also like to get an external enclosure.

Well, knowing that there is the chance I am unable to fix the iGesture. Let us work off the assumtion that I will receive nothing if I fix nothing. To be fair I would also have to have some sort or liability if I destroy it. I know what I am doing and honestly feel that wouldn't happen. I just want ...

I would be willing to check out one of your pads that doesn't power up. I have dismantled both an iGesture numpad and Touchstream LP. I added a mini-USB port to the numpad (soon to be on ebay as I need money) and repaired the ribbon on the LP. Additionally, I purchased a MacNTouch with 2 damaged cab...

Cables Update
OK, I called a couple of companies that make Flex Printed Circuit (FPC), Everywhere I called basically said it would cost a min of $700 + tooling to make a minimum order yielding 3 sets of 3 cables. I for one do not wish to pay ~$400+ for a set of cables. Being the inventive guy I am, I got some cop...
