Pulling it apart seemed to work best; using a scrwewdriver to press the flanges broke some off.

I opened up the left side of my TS. No control circuitry, per se. There's a hole for the USB cable (on the top edge, a little left of center), but nothing for it to connect to. On the bottom of the surface your fingers touch is an array of chips, eight from top to bottom and probably six from left t...

But could you trick the firmware updater into sending an iGesture the mini firmware? As far as the components being the same: do the single pad products (iGesture, TS Mini) have the ribbon cable attachment the two pad products have? And are the components EXACTLY the same? I see that the left TS ST ...

iGesture vcs. Touchstream Mini

what are the differences between an iGesture and a Touchstream Mini?

Specifically, what are the dimensions of each, and can an iGesture be programmed, via the MyGesture editor, to have keys?

And for each, how many sensors does it have?

Sorry TP Diffenback, I don't know where that is located. I used the java installer found on the fingerworks website. If you can direct me to the "md5sum" location I will gladly post it. Nevermind that. ;) Can you post a screenshot of your device manager, like this: http://img202.imageshack.us/img20...

I have replicated my problem.... Using the fingerworks utility (Device firmware upgrade) my ts is found in the drop down box. I used apply default upgarde for this product.... Hope this helps, but if not... I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Gutsy move, replicating, thanks, and thanks for your kind...

It was a one time problem, but I think I can replicate it. Yes, the TS works great now as well, after I did the firmware upgrade from 1.6-1.6. Basically I threw the same firmware on the same TS, but it got it working. I am confused. If thre computer couldn't see the TS, how'd you transfer the firew...

Is this a problem you're currently having, or did you get it working after this happened?

Yes, that's the "5 x flat hand" gesture. Check your manual.

Yes, I tried that after you suggested it above. No dice. :(

Opening up a Touchstream?

Now that my Touchstream is dead, I guess my only option is to open it up and see just how dead it is.

Has anyone done this?

Any idea how to open it?

Thanks.

one thing i tried when my ts totally died was to reset the firmware. The gesture set wasn't loaded until i updated the firmware. Dont know if this will help but its always a good thing to try. Good luck though since windows doesn't even see it, how can I rest the firmware? all the TS software utili...

Try plugging the keyboard into your normal computer and to the reset gesture (flat hand) five times in a row, that will cause a "hard reset" of the board. If the board is alive and Windows just isn't seeing it, then that might help. Thanks for the advice but no dice. I haven't tried it on another P...

Crap! Static spark, non-working keyboard

It's a cold night, I get home, take off my jacket and grab the key board.

Spark jumps from my finger, keybpard is dead.

Diagnostics show no keyboard, Windows plug and pay reports no response from it.

Any options?

Please, I can't get used to a normal keyboard. This is killing me.

When my TS's left pad came off, I reattached it to the base with rubber cement.

Partial answer: if you start gesturing with two fingers, you can continue to mouse with only one finger.
