Re: "Spare" (unused) keys to use for information transfer
Exactly, I'm sure you can manage from there! My AutoHotkey experience let me do things I would't have expected. Some online on AutoHotkey forums: HID Profiler - Wheel, Joystik, HOTAS

Re: "Spare" (unused) keys to use for information transfer
Hi David, if you run out of keys, you can work with key sequences. I mean you map some available keystroke in AutoHotkey that would not trigger anything on its own but would tell it to Input() the next one for a "special" treatment ... with a timeout if necessary ... and some SoundBeep, 90, 100 or S...

Re: KeyMouse on Kickstarter
I'm sure that a one to one mapping for each key should be stored into the device to provide a custom mapping. This is what I get from a DX1 Ergodex when I exit the driver (a Win7 customized version). When the driver is not there, I don't expect anything more from the hardware and rely on AutoHotkey ...

Re: KeyMouse on Kickstarter
That one looks good and even cooler than others, thanks to the participation of a design team, no doubt, like what Kickers Studio contribution to the making of Twiddler 3. I really like it when what has to be done by professionals is not improvised in this kind of project like it seems it has been o...

Twiddler 3
Hi, as I'm always ready for a new addiction, here I come to contaminate the most people I can around here with what got me involved in Twiddler3-Layout on GitHub . http://twiddler.tekgear.com/images/twiddler-front-back.png As I am not satisfied with the mapping layout, I had to do something about it...

Re: Fully working FingerWorks software in a virtual machine
Smart move, thanks. Maybe an alternate solution to the disconnect-reconnect operation, at least under MS-Windows, could be going through: - Computer ... Manage ... Device Manager ... Action - Scan for hardware changes - And if this is not enough: Disable-Enable the related USB Entry ...while tweakin...

Re: For Sale: FingerWorks TouchStream LP
Thanks for sharing this FW aware point of view about this device. Your arguments are much more meaningful than those from non enlightened average reviewer. And I'm pretty sure that, at least for a programmer/geek empowered mindset, some amount of AutoHotkey spice can turn this device into a good alt...

Re: For Sale: FingerWorks TouchStream LP
Hi there, you've just ruined a good part of my work day, peeping at this new geek bait
And as my MS ergo has nothing written on most of it's keys, according to them I have to give them some of my money.
Thanks for the heads-up.

Torben! You made me laugh, I mean it! and it's not so often. Sometimes I use to smile at good jokes or nice touch of humour... I just  while reading your post and the replies you got. Each of those were considering this as a serious matter but, as I'm an independent developer who works at home ...

From your files and a few other bits 'n pieces I've put together this mirror: http://www.dustyneuron.com/fingerworks/ Google just knocked at my door this morning, telling me something happened concerning Fingerworks and walked me to your entry page... At first I did not understand what I was lookin...

Re: Fully working FingerWorks software in a virtual machine
That's some job! Virtualization is not an easy step for no-geek-user but it's not quite out of reach and it will keep those fw antiques working for years to come. Survival requires some doing and this solution seems to be the smart one.
Thanks Torben, Again!

Re: Where have all the users gone?
Life with my TouchStream keyboard has softly turned into a discrete symbiotic relationship. I've immersed myself into multi-touching things since my hands have fingers but, after enjoying our FW toy for those last few years, I had to move on in order to discover some other means of indulgence. But I...

As I have extensive use of UHU tac all over my desk to keep in check all those gadgets that keep me alive like my old pal Dart Vardor, I suggest you could give it a try. Anyway, it does the job for a Plantronics CS65 headset support (far too light to keep standing on its own), a Fellowes Gliding Pal...

True, I remember that one! Nevertheless I know that price is lower than 350$ ... in some alternate reality where Apple is just a fruit.
