I just got one of Apple's new MacBooks with the glass trackpad.
It's the Touchstream!
Mine has been dead for over a year now and I really missed it.
And with a utility calls MultiClutch you can even reprogram the gestures to the ones I liked with the touchstream.
I may be using my laptop more than my desktop now. |

| Good news! Even if it's not quite the real deal, it has to happen eventually... |

Don't give me that bootcamp crap, virtualization of Windows requires good drivers, and Apple doesn't make any well written Windows software. |

Anyway, Apple has put money on the table to extract multitouch tech from the real world. This means we'll have to import everything they re-invent as long as we are not ready to ascend to their realm...
That's how things work with Apple, either they are close to vanish under the surface of our planet or they build their own and leave us for their white heaven. I know I am not able to become an inspired believer either |

AFAIK, Bootcam is NOT virtualization. You install a FULL STANDALONE Windows, along with your OSX (Like installing dual-boot Linux and Windows). When you boot into Windows, you're essentially running a PC. |

When you boot into Windows, you're essentially running a PC. | Well, I'll be the first to admit I wouldn't know. I'm pretty sure I read an article indicating that it was, not virtualization like there is a full blown operating system under the virtual machine, but virtualization like there is something other than the hardware under Windows because while Intel makes the chips, they aren't the same. However, like I said, I wouldn't know, I am calling up what I seem to remember from some ancient article when Apple first switched to Intel. Unfortunately, even if it wasn't virtualization, I wouldn't count on it's reliability, I mean, considering how poorly all other free Apple softwares (QuickTime, iTunes, Safari) make Windows run, how could one expect Apple to make good drivers for so that Windows could run well on their machines? Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind buying a keyboard like the touchstream or better from Apple, but I don't want to pay twice as much for a computer half as powerful as what I could build, and I suspect that even if they sold a device for Windows the software would be an unfortunate burden, based on past performance. |
