Question Autocad overview

Does anybody out there use autocad all day everyday (like me) and have an overview to share about how to use this technology and if it in fact speeds things up? I find that I spend lots of time trading off between command line typing and mousing and it looks like combining all of that into one interface would be a real benefit. I am trying to justify the expense of a touchstreem and want to see if anyone has implimented this technology in a production environment.

Thanks.

CAD

I use Rhino, Maya and Mastercam all day..

I suggest using the LP only for internet for a while. Will get you used to mousing and some gesturing.

I practiced typing for about 20 min a day using Bruce's Unusual typing tutor. Nice thing about Bruce's program is that you can copy and paste your own text for the typing practice. I usually grab an article out of google news or something that I wanted to read anyway..

Once you get the hang of typing and gesturing, try using the LP for a small amount of time each day for your CAD work. After a couple of weeks of doing that, cut yourself off from the mouse.. Might slow you down for a bit but you should be faster than you were with a mouse in the long haul. You will be typing most of your commands I am sure..

Here is one of my latest works..

Good luck,
